To Write Your Own Wedding Vows Or Not?

May 9, 2009 by Francina · Leave a Comment

With all the hustle and bustle of planning a wedding, the wedding vows are often overlooked as not important or as something you will get to later – until it is almost too late! These vows will cement the foundation of your marriage to a certain extent and therefore you will want to take time to really say what’s on your heart. Problem is you may not be confident enough to write your own wedding vows. So should you then go with classic or traditional wedding vows instead?

The choice is entirely yours. If you feel you’re happy with what has been done in the past you can just use one of the generic vows. But if you and your partner decided that you really want something special, something that means a lot to you as a couple, then you’ll have to dig a bit deeper and do some soul searching to find the right words for writing your own wedding vows.

If you are looking for ideas what to say taking a closer look at some successful ceremonies that was previously used may be a great idea. Taking something from various ceremonies can help put together a very unique wedding – including the vows.

This idea might freak some people out though, since most people are not born writers (surprise!) Thanks to the Internet help is literally at hand and within a few minutes too.

Chris Simeral is an accomplished professional writer that has done scripts for radio and TV commercials and saw the need to help people write their wedding vows. In his book “The Ultimate Wedding Vow Kit” he shares many strategies which will help you write romantic and personal wedding vows.

He shares a lot of pointers and will even tell you how to get a wedding vow mini-kit for free. So maybe you want to go with classic or traditional wedding vows that won’t make you nervous or you can be bold (and romantic) enough to write your own wedding vows.

What Is A Prenuptial Agreement And Why Should I Have One?

April 30, 2009 by Francina · Leave a Comment

Legal Messenger for a prenuptial agreement

If you’re engaged to be married the only thing on your mind is fulfilling a lifetime dream of living happily every after (which is still possible by the way!) Therefore asking what a prenuptial agreement is and should we have one is bound to kill the romance or rather just make it simmer and not boil for a little while. It has become very easy to arrange and you can even find prenuptial agreement forms online.

This is a definition of a prenuptial agreement according to Wikipedia:

“A prenuptial agreement, ante-nuptial agreement, or premarital agreement, commonly abbreviated to pre-nup or pre-nupt, is a contract entered into prior to marriage or civil union by the people intending to marry. The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for division of property and spousal support in the event of divorce or breakup of marriage.”

According to legal and financial experts alike this is a smart move to make since one in three of first marriages end in divorce and 50% of second or third marriages as well. According to Nancy Dunnan, a New York financial advisor and author, marriage is not only an emotional and physical union but also a financial one. And you don’t have to be Donald Trump to qualify either.

If you fall into any of the following groups, you should consider having a prenuptial agreement:

• You have assets such as a home, stock or retirement funds
• Own all or part of a business
• You may be receiving an inheritance
• You have children and/or grandchildren from a previous marriage
• One of you is much wealthier than the other
• One of you will be supporting the other through college
• You have loved ones who need to be taken care of, such as elderly parents
• You have or are pursuing a degree or license in a potentially lucrative profession such as medicine
• You could see a big increase in income because your business is taking off, or that garage band you play in has just gotten a contract with a big record company.

Now that you know what a prenuptial agreement is, you can make an informed decision and even get the necessary prenuptial agreement forms online. At the moment it may not seem important but take some time, get it over with and rekindle that romance that must never fade away. Make this a priority.

100 (OR 1001?) Questions Before Marriage

    April 25, 2009 by Francina · Leave a Comment

1001 Questions For Couples Before Marriage

You’re engaged to be married and are very excited about it. That’s good. But do take an hour to answer a 100 or even 1001 questions before your marriage. You and your partner are bound to have differences in various areas. Why not try to find a happy medium for both before taking the big step?

The moral of the story is: the more you know your partner or about your partner, the less surprises you’ll have after you’re married. And some may not be such nice surprises, which may cause conflict and even distrust.

I know at the moment you’re not even thinking about anything bad happening, but keep in mind that you will be spending a lot of time with your partner for many, many years and you cannot possibly see eye to eye on every single subject.

1001 Questions For Couples was written by Michael Webb who appeared on over 500 radio and TV shows including Oprah and had articles published in magazines like Cosmopolitan and Men’s Health. He knows his subject and you can listen when he speaks.

    Perfect Love Compatibility

It just makes sense to rather go prepared by asking 1001 questions before marriage to make sure that you and your partner are completely compatible. Get to know your partner’s likes and dislikes, find out about their thoughts, desires and feelings.

Focus on finding out about all the little things that can help you please each other in all areas of life and provide the foundation for things you can share together.

Together is the keyword here. Personally I believe that there are so many divorces nowadays because couples don’t do things together anymore. They’re married but each go their own way. Hanging out with their respective friends but hardly ever together. Why did you get married then?

There’s enough sadness and heartache in the world as it is. If you can take this one little step to avoid disillusionment and pain then please take it. Invest in your married life. Buy 1001 Questions For Couples today. Ask 100 questions before marriage and get off to a good start.
